Burning Brighter
It's ironic how alone we can feel in a world full of people who share our struggles. Yet, each one of us is unique, created for a special purpose.
The Adventure of Adulthood
After my last post, I got an email saying that I needed to post a part two because there were still so many unanswered questions about my life and my future. Well good news! I haven’t quit writing yet, so just keep following along and hopefully I’ll answer your questions. Right now, I am going to churches and small groups and worship nights and Bible studies as much as possible (about every day of the week). In this moment I feel as if this is the beauty of adulthood or perhaps young adulthood or maybe even singleness. Whatever it is I am enjoying it thoroughly. There is just something so incredible to be in a room full of people hungry for Jesus. I feel that I already shared some of this last time so maybe this is truly a continuation of that post.
Sharing the Treasure
I feel that I have found such a sweet treasure in my relationship with Jesus, and I so desperately want to share it with others. Yet some think that I am crazy for the lengths that I go for the great big God in the sky, but He is my best friend, the love of my life. Of course, I will go! I believe that I have radical faith, faith that can move mountains. I do not mean to judge, but sometimes I look around and I do not see the same spark and fire in other people’s eyes. Yet it is important to remember that you do not have to go far and wide to find God or grow your relationship with Him. The same God that is in India is in Jerusalem. The same God that is in Jerusalem is in my church. The same God that is in my church is in the evangelist’s home. That same God dwells in my heart. Church can be anywhere at any time with anyone, but church is a gathering. So don’t live this life alone. Find believers with bolder faith than your own to push you along. Find friends that will pray you over the mountain.
I’m not exactly sure where all that came from, but I guess God wanted to share it. I want to share with you a new poem I wrote. On my way to meet with Jesus I had these thoughts swirling in my head and spewing out my mouth in poetry. I know that this captured version is not the same. Some things are just meant to be shared with God. I suppose this is what He wants me to share with you.
A Thirst for Adventure
I have discovered what I’ve seen so many before me discover
A thirst for adventure
But I hope that thirst is for you above all else
I pray that this adventure only brings me closer to You
I said anywhere
And You told me where to go
It was closer than I imagined
But farther than my comfort zone
I run hard and fast after You
I drive hours late at night
I wake up early in the morning
I worship when I’m hungry
But Lord, let me not lose steam
Let me run on Jesus
I pray that in my chasing after You
I may not go astray
What I’ve found on my adventure is gold
It is gold
Something I wish so desperately to share
With my friends and family
With everyone everywhere
But they do not hear
They do not understand
Or they are not willing to make the leap
The plunge into darkness
In order to find the light
When I said that I gave you everything
I meant it
I am on fire, you see
And this fire, it consumes me
My life is to serve You, my king
Some people may think I’m weird
But only because they have not seen the truth
Others call me crazy
I am crazy, crazy about you
Some wish to fall in love
I pray every day I fall more in love with you, Jesus
Because at the end of each day
That is all that matters
You are all that matters
You are my adventure

In a world filled with messy and confused love, I find it refreshing to write and sing of my love for Jesus.
Travel Blog
I have enjoyed my travels lately, especially writing and sharing them with you. It makes me feel like I’m an adventurous travel blogger or something, but that is not my life. At least right now, it is not. I realized that there is much travel that can happen which no one sees. The travel of the heart. So here I express just that with you. I hope you enjoy my poetry. I find poetry is often the best way to put my feelings to words. Regardless, I love to write whether 1,000 people read it or just my God.
Whether you feel like you are burning brighter than everyone else or your spark is sizzling out, remember this one thing. Stay connect to the vine.
"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing." John 15:5 NLT
